William "Bill" Holtz Hines
William "Bill" Holtz Hines, 90, died Monday, January 28, 2019, at Northampton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, NC.
Bill was born in Marlton, NJ, April 18, 1928, son to the late John Hines, Sr. and Florence Holtz Hines. After farming over 40 years in New Jersey, he and his wife, Anne, retired to the Galatia Community in North Carolina. There, he made many new friends who he loved to have a good time with, and "pick on". He loved to fish, especially surf fishing in North Carolina and New Jersey, and river fishing in Florida. When he was not fishing, Bill loved helping people. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Milne Hines, and his brothers, John Hines, Jr. and Robert Hines.
Surviving are his sons, John "Jerry" Hines and Joan Sweeten of Marlton, NJ, Alan Hines and wife, Deanna, of Arvada, CO, and Richard Hines and wife, Berta, of Pendleton, NC. Also surviving is his dear friend, Nettie A. Moody, of Seaboard, NC.
Rev. David Foster will conduct a service to remember Bill's life on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Galata Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall after the service.
The family would like to give special thanks to his caregivers at Pine Forest Rest Home and Northampton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
